1) Under-drawing with a skin-colored marker, or on a separate page with a dark marker to see through.
Integrate clothes right away. (No need to draw and "construct" the nude body first). Integrate fold and fabric -"pulls" right away, (they'll describe the body beneath).
2) (on "real" page) Draw silhouette of clothes with Prisma pencil. First with a soft line quality. Integrate shadows and folds as you go with the side of Prisma. Face, hands and shoes focus on simple silhouette.
3) Block in color (of garment and shoes) with gouache/water color. Add simple shadows in face and block color in hair.
4) Add shadows once color is dry, in meantime you can work on skin, hands and shoes)
4 B) If it is a plaid fabric, add stripes, following the body and folds of garment direction.
5) Add highlight and skin with pastel and blend.
6) Refine and finish face and hands, add contrasts.

Rendering plaid or stripes: Directly on figure:
After under drawing is completed with a skin tone marker we continue as we would render regular casual clothes:
1)Silhouette of garment.
2)Rendering folds and shadows with marker.
3)Adding plaid pr stripe, with marker or Prisma, following the body shape. Pay attention to folds and pattern continuation! (one can use a electric eraser)
4)Refining and adding accents and contrasts. Blocking out squares with markers.
5)Highlights if needed.
Rendering Jeans:
After a thorough under drawing (with either markers or pastel:)
You can either render them with Prisma pencil only, OR block the blue color in first with pastel and blend, and then add shadows and washouts or high light at the end.
Always make sure you feel the body (muscles) benaeth the clothes!

Warm up.
Left hand and right hand exercise.
Follow your right hand step by step with your left. NO under drawing!
System: Work so you always can use your negative space, which means you work from the inside out.....(ex. not the outside of arms first.....body and neg. space first).
Same with leg space..
