First we draw the figure in swim suit and then the clothes on tracing paper. Trying to understand the fall and drapes of the garment according to the body movement.
Drawing the clothes directly on the figure taking steps:
1) Quick figure/gesture under drawing.
2 )Adding garments on, still in light skin tone marker.
3) Adding folds and shadows with marker or water color.
4) Refining/accentuating with prisma.
Example of a under drawing with the clothes directly integrated (not drawing the figure first and then adding the clothes)...instead working in a shape by shape method.
Drawing clothes on the figure:
1) Quick under-drawing with light marker or Prisma. Draw only visible body parts (no need to draw the nude figure beneath, you can mark shoulder, chest, waist, hip, knee and anklebone)Prisma
2) Draw silhouette of garment and include folds of fabric right away.
3) Add shadow and highlights and add contrast to your line.
4) Finish rendering skin, head, hair (even if only silhouette) and shoes.
(20 minutes)
Silhouette exercise:
Pick the body side which describes the most movement. Draw 1 line only and describe 1 side only as a silhouette (1 minute).
Contour drawing, NO under-drawing:
Focus on all contours, measure step by step. 1 line only.
