Bricks and clicks week 5: Example of our midterm test (evaluation):

Midterm test for Sophomore Model Drawing:

Learning outcomes:

Students will work independently for 3 hours. They will draw from our male model. They will find out how much they remember from the previous 6 weeks of class. They also will decide which media they'll use and they'll have to manage their time well.

2 male gestures in swimming trunks: underdrawing, rendering and refining with Prisma pencil; shade figure including face, hands and feet (25 minutes for one figure).

2 gestures with clothes: create quick underdrawing in swimming trunks (5 minutes). Then model is in same pose, clothed. 25 minutes are given to render the clothes, finish the drawing, incl. face, hands, feet. Free choice of media.

Face/head studies at the end: two 8-minute head studies (fashion edited face).

Criteria: Feedback (grade) will be based on: Proportion and movement of the gesture, pose and angles of perspective (floor-line of feet), use of media, line quality, rendering technique, shading, face, hands and feet/shoes, how garments are rendered, and time management.
