What is next week’s Assignment : Phase 2, due week 11:
- Some students need to rework their stories and work on their design concept.
- Ideation pages : Put a CIRCLE around your 3 favorite ideations (of each story) you like. Put a number next to your choices (1, 2, or 3).
- Create 3 sketches for each story. (Total 6 sketches, 8.5 x 11 paper recommended)
Each sketch will take not more than 25 minutes. Not rendered yet. It may get altered and still worked on.
IMPORTANT NOTES :
- Sketch pages : Enlarge your ideations (by hand or copy machine), revise the design as needed, add detail, punch up the lines, and add shading.
- Sketch quality should be better than your ideation but not too tight or too accurate. Keep it efficient, and make it “pop”. (no more than 25 minutes per sketch)
- Add the Info block (your name, project name, phase #, soft/hard, etc.) Each sketch page number should match the ideation number in your circles.
- Keep all original work clean, without tape, and organized by week, to be able show it all in our final semester review.
If you are having any difficulties making a decision on your favorite idea, or story concept, email me and I’ll do my best to help you.
Important Note : Starting next week, not delivering your work at the beginning of class will be considered “Late” under Otis policy and receive a lower grade.
Extensions are only granted by Michael for extraordinary circumstances, and must be delivered in one or two weeks unless you arranged another date with me.
What was our In-Class Assignment :
- Revise, improve your “Soft” story concept and “Hard” story concept from the story concepts you created last week.
- Create 15 ideaton sketches for each story. (either 11" X 17"Full or 8.5"x11" paper - ideaton sketch size: approx: 3'x3".
What IS Next week’s Assignment :
- Create 3 pages of sketches for each story. (Total 6 pages 11” X 17” recommended)
each sketch will take not more than 25 minutes. Not rendered yet. It may get altered and still worked on.
IMPORTANT NOTES :
- BOTH Ideation pages and sketch pages are due next week. The students who had their meetings later in the day and had to do all ideaton sketches at home, are recommended to work on the 6 sketches as well, to catch up. The students who started their ideation in class need to bring in the 6 sketches.
- Your ideations should be purely imaginary. Don’t be too logical. Look at your product, user, and environment research pages for inspiration.
