What is next week’s Assignment (Due week 5) : Phase 1 and 2:

We are designing an object that involves BOTH organic and geometric elements. The idea is to promote analytical drawing as well as freehand/observation drawing.

THEME : Pick ONE of the following themes for your project : Perfume Bottle + Cap; Plant pot + Plant;  or Floor Lamp + Lamp Shade.

Phase 1: IDEATION : 15 ideation sketches : (you may have already completed part of this in class)

- Each page should be Full of SMALL ideations of your new design. (each 2” - 3” in size).
- Use VERITHIN pencil and punch up some lines with PREMIER.
- Put a CIRCLE around 3 ideations you like from both pages. Put a number next to your choice (1, 2, or 3).
- Remember your design should have ONE element organic and ONE geometric.
- Add the Info block.

Phase 2: SKETCHES : 3 sketches, each 1 page: (these should be evolved/new sketches and not the ones you did in class)

- Take the ideation you like and sketch it large on the page. (You can enlarge it in the copy machine and use it as an underlay).
- Correct the perspective, add detail, punch up the lines, and revise the design as needed. (you may need to do a few tests).
- The quality should be better than your ideation but not too tight or too accurate.  Keep it efficient, and make it “pop”.
- Remember your design should have ONE element organic and ONE geometric.
- Add the Info block. Each page number should match the number you put in the circle of your ideation.
