- Week 12/13: Preparing for final test. Week 14: Final test.

Midterm test:
1 page with 3 female gestures:
The first two are a thorough under drawing and only the head, hands and feet are worked out (rendered). (15 minutes each)- see example image 16.
The 3rd gesture is completely rendered (in leotard). (20 minutes)
Media: Marker, Prisma.
2nd page:
3 finished clothed figures: E.g: Striped skirt, dress, top. Jersey dress with folds and drapes. (25 minutes each)
Media: Marker, Prisma and/or water color.

Working with an under drawing (black marker so you can see it through) on a seperate sheet (below).
With Prisma draw silhouette of the garment. Folds and shadows with water color (squint if necessary).
Add shadows to body and face with water color. Render with Prisma last.

Thorough under drawing on a separate page:
If one wants one can add the garment silhouette with another color (on under drawing)

1) Drawing the silhouette of the garment, paying attention to the proportion and shape.
2) Adding folds with marker or water color.
3) Adding color on skin and garment.
4) Rendering the face hands and feet.
5) Once drawing is dry, refining Prisma lines, adding contrasts.
6) Highlights.

When we have a lot going on, many pieces draped incl. stripes:
Pursue same: Silhouette of shapes (break them down) Add shadows and folds with water color) and at the end the stripes.

It is important to pay attention of the proportion of the dress and the proportions (width) and directions of the stripes.

Midterm test:
3 figures in a dress- 3-5 min. gesture under-drawing, 20 minutes dress and rendering, (total 25 minutes, each).
Pick appropriate media per outfit. One outfit w/o pattern or print, jersey, 1 striped dress or cover up, one big silhouette dress with a pattern print.

1) Skin color under drawing with marker or pastel.
2) Block in color of swim suit with pastel or marker or water color.
3) Shadow- light.
4) Render with Prisma and add at the end with white guache rhinestone highlights and shine.

Draw the figure the "regular" way:
Underdarwing (pastel), adding shadow/light (pastel or prisma), render and refine (prisma).

When we draw the fashion face, it is important to edit. We stylize everything. Start out drawing softly, then add accents and contrasts at the end. (Working in layers).
OR:
If it's done with water color (only) focus on the important facial features. Simplify shapes. Same with the hait, silhouette. If it looks good, (leave it edited), and or add accents, ex. eye liner and lipstick.

An under drawing should be torough and include our 5 important lines (shoulder, center front or center back, chest, waist and hip)
The head should look like a head.
It also should include the feet.
Always measure where the weight leg ankle bone is in relation with the shoulder, for balance.
