- SPRING SEMESTER: Week 1 and 2: Basics of the female figure in swimsuit:
- Week 2: Different fabric textures, different media. (Former yaers): Striped cover ups. Shading and shapes.
- Weeks 3 and 4: Continuing stripes. line quality/contour, leg studies, hands and shoes.
- Week 4 and 5: Dresses, rendering folds and drape. Rendering swim suit with sparkles
- Weeks 4, 5 and 6: Day dresses. Stripes and folds.
- Week 7 or 8 : Midterm test:
- Week 8: Opposite proportions, whide jackets and skinny jeans, textures ex. herringbone, houndstooth etc.
- Week 9: Garment textures. Better sports wear, seeing the body beneath the clothes.
- Week 10: More textures, jeans and knit. Better sports wear. Seeing the body beneath. Tracing paper method.
- Week 11: Drawing the jacket in different medias. Formerly the Grunche project. Working on tracing paper, seeing the body beneath
- Week 12/13: Preparing for final test. Week 14: Final test.

Seeing the body beneath the garment.
1) Under drawing on a separate page:
- To achieve movement and the exact fashion pose it is helpful to mark your angles (directions) of body parts first.
2) Create silhouette of garment first on top page.
3) Folds and shadows and shine or highlights move with the body volume and movement.
4) Then work on shadows and folds first.
5) Color and render (refine) last.

We bock in color with pastel dust (and a cotton square) or gouache/water color.
At the end we shade, and accentuate the folds (according to the body movement).

Patent leather and leather with shine:
1/2) After under drawing is completed, draw silhouette of garment with Prisma.
3) Block in leather color with marker.
4) Add shine with a white Prisma (or pastel or gouache).
5) Add shadows and folds with black marker (or gouache)
6) Refine Prisma outlines.
Fur and sequent dress:
FUR:
1/2) After under drawing is completed, draw silhouette of fur with Prisma.
- Integrate in the outline, the "furry" texture.
3) Texture hair texture with a marker, in a irregular pattern.
4) Add shine with a white Prisma (or pastel or gouache).
5) Add darker colors of fur with a darker marker (or gouache)
6) Refine Prisma outlines.
Sequent dress:
1/2) After under drawing is completed, draw silhouette of garment with Prisma.
3) Block in main color of dress with marker (or gouache).
4) Add shine with a white Prisma, (the side of Prisma) or Pastel.
5) Texture sequents with dots and small half circles in a irregular pattern.
also erase little dots from Pastel under layer.
6) Refine Prisma outlines.

3) Block in velvet with either marker liquid and cotton square, or pastel powder.
4) Add highlights with a white Prisma (or pastel).
5) Add shadows and folds with darker pastel powder.
6) Refine Prisma outlines.

Feeling the body beneath the clothes:
This example is a more advanced sketch (w/o an under drawing). It clearly shows the directions and angles of the body due to the pose.

We did exercises drawing the body (pose) in swim suit. We dress the model and have her pose in the same pose again and know that way exactly what the body does beneath the clothes.
